Why I Started Bookstagram & Joined The Reading Community
I’ve always had a love for reading, but it truly became a vital part of my life during COVID, just like for many of us. In those times of isolation, reading became my escape—a way to unwind and get "out of my head" while diving into different worlds. I realized that reading isn’t just great for the imagination, but it’s also an incredible form of self-care that benefits mental well-being.
That’s why I started my Bookstagram in January 2025—to share this love for books and how they can be a tool for relaxation and growth. I’m so excited to be part of this book community and to connect with fellow readers who share the same passion!
A Few Little Facts About Me ...
Animal Lover
Growing up & living on a farm has made me a big animal lover, whether it's pigs, cats, fish, or even goats, I have always loved them all! Since 2022 I have been a guinea pig breeder as well, so my love for animals has sort of taken over! I now run a small business, Pigs On Petals, selling guinea pig, rabbit, and hamster natural, flower-based treats.
My Personal Favourite Book Genres
They would probably be, Science Fiction, Dystopian, Literary Fiction, Mystery & Thrillers.

Book - Divergent or The Great Gatsby.
Film - a tie between Seven Pounds & Pride & Prejudice.

Slightly Strange Interests
I have always been a little bit morbid (which I get told off for sometimes) so of course I love Silent Witness, & ANY books about bodies & pathology & learning about Criminal Psychology & Forensic Science.
My Job
I design websites & branding for small businesses and do social media marketing. I am "that" person for when you simply don't have enough time to do the techy side of business. Which has become something I really enjoy now ...
Mental Wellbeing
If you talk to enough fellow bookworms, you will probably find that it becomes a coping mechanism, helping with anxiety, overthinking & just being able to relax & escape from reality even just for a little bit.
